Last season, Nokomis Groves announced that we would not re‐open our retail fruit store after 71 years of our family serving yours. As you will recall, we felt our groves were not up to the standards that you, our customers, expected from us due to citrus production issues. However, we take enormous pride in being the third generation to take up the legacy of our grandparents, Perry and Annie Lee Hayes, and our parents, Gene and Nadine Henderson. We know that they would be very proud of our successes, and how we met and faced the many challenges placed before us in the citrus industry.

Last year, we engaged Dundee Groves to handle all of your gift fruit shipping needs. We wanted to continue providing you with the same quality fruit that we always have from a name that we know and trust. As we make the very tough decision to close all Nokomis operations, we know you can continue receiving the gift fruit that you are accustomed to through Dundee Groves. Dundee Groves is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dundee Citrus Growers Association, a grower owned cooperative, which has been providing the highest quality fresh citrus since 1924. We are confident that Dundee Groves will carry on our legacy of quality and customer care. This season, the Dundee Groves catalog will include your past Gift Lists, as they did last year.

We are saddened to leave the industry that has provided so many memories for three generations, but we leave knowing that you can continue to receive the quality of fruit that has pleased so many of you over the years.
